Assemblage

Assemblage is a creative compositional arrangement made of found and/ or unrelated objects. In my work, when building a new form, I seek objects I’ve collected in my travels that feel related in subtle and overt ways. I construct the forms with the intention of constructing an iconic statement or a narrative about the animal subject I’m exploring. Over time, I’ve had people offer bones and taxidermy they’ve found knowing I’d want to transform the taxidermy or found animal fragments in a fashion that attempts to honor the beauty, strength, dignity and intelligence of their life in spite of the disregard apparent in their demise. No animals are ever harmed in the making of these uncommon pieces.
