John

This memorial figure was completed largely from memory (and a few loose sketches), 2 years after I studied him from life. “John” the silverback was lost to a tragic fire along with his entire troupe and 22 other primates. This figure marks many of my memories learning what I could from this powerfully contained male. “John” was a commission for a private collector in Pennsylvania.
